The image represents a photograph of the Heart Sutra as distributed to visitors to Saihō-Ji temple in Kyoto. In order to gain admittance to the temple's famous moss garden visitors are requested to spend time copying (tracing) the text. This image, at one remove is a photograph of a photograph of that text.
