Brooklyn-based artist Rachel Harrison’s distinctive work is an intriguing fusion of sculptural form, painterly surfaces and photographic imagery. Connecting abstraction with representation, her sculptures and installations combine hand-made forms with photographs, videos and found objects. Images of pop icons such as Marlon Brando, Liz Taylor and Michael Jackson meet store bought products like plastic honey bears, china figurines and coloured plastic straws.
