Paul Winstanley shows a small group of brand new paintings arising from his residency at Kettles Yard, Cambridge. These rigorously painted views of unpopulated Fenland landscapes, based on snapshots taken from a moving car, are imbued with a compelling presence. While still using photographs as their starting point, these new works present a radical change from Winstanley’s previous monochromatic urban interiors.
